Drive failure

1 of the writers in the duplicating unit fails to detect any disks that are inserted into it.

Hi Trevor, I'm not sure how long you have had the duplicator or how long the it has had the problem, but there is a possibility that the faulty writer's connecting(IDE) cable could be loose. Is there someone there who might be able to open the back and make sure every thing is connected securely? Kind regards, [edited]

I have already opened & checked for 'loose' cables, all cables are securely seated. the drive still fails to detect any disks that are put into it.

I don't need to return the whole DVD duplicator, can you just swap out the faulty drive?
