Duplicator

Hi, I have a Stordigital duplicator and at the moment around 25% of the CDs and DVDs I\'m copying are coming up as blank when I check them on another machine. Could you suggest a possible solution to this problem please? I have tried a CD cleaning disk, which won\'t work as there isn\'t a \'play\' facility on the drives. Also, can you provide me with any information about connecting a duplicator to a PC. Thanks.

Looking at the age of the duplicator, you might possibly need to fit new drives. Can you confirm if the blank CD/ DVDs are coming out of the same drives each time, or random ones? The USB thing can be sorted out after you get the machine copying properly - to access the option 12, you'd need to go into the Advanced setup menu.

Simon, it is unusual for a DVD or CD to be ejected as a pass and still be blank. Have you tried using different media? The unit would need to be reurned to have USB connection fitted if the model is suitable. Kind regards.

I will try some different disks and I will make a note to see if it is happening with any particular drives more often.

As for connecting to a PC, there is a USB cable with the duplicator to attach to the computer, but the PC doesn't appear to detect the hardware. Maybe I'm missing some software?

I'm a media technician in a high school and they bought the duplicator before I started the job.

Please supply the Stordigital serial num located on the back of the duplicator (00****). For the machine to communicate with a PC,the PC must have Image Manager s/ware installed.When the duplicator is in USB mode(opt 12), the duplicator'e HDD is then addressable thru Image manager, NOT My Computer.

The serial number is 002014. There is a USB socket in the back of the duplicator for me to attach it to the PC, but there is no option 12 on the duplicator.
