DVD Duplicator

We purchased a DVD duplicator roughly 6months ago. When burning dvds now, it seems to copy the data - but its not playable/readable on any dvd player or dvd drive. I have tried various types of media...even the media which was working before. It does however copy cds which do play ok. Can you please get back to me so i know this has been raised? Thanks in advance Chris

Hi Chris

Can you confirm how many dirves the unit has and what firmware version is displayed when you turn it on. I can assume you have tried different masters also. Have you tried fixing the burn speed to the speed of the media - rather than leaving it as MAX or AUTO. Kind regards.

Hi,

The duplicator has 8 drives all together (1+7). The firmware version is 148.5 (or is that "S"?). I have also tried various burn speeds and media. That was the first thing i checked.
Thanks again

Chris

Dear Chris - you might want to try donwloading this new firmware, unzipping, burning to CD, place CD in reader, then hold ESC to enter advanced setup, scroll down to update firmware and follow prompts.

Firmware

You might also try changing the source drive to one of the writers via the select source option 7 or 8. That way you can determine if the reader is failing. Kind regards.

Hi,

I updated the firmware and flashed the duplicator with no problems. Everything seems to go fine, no errors etc. But the media is not readable.

Can you confirm if it copies CDs ok? Can you confirm you have tried copying different sopurce discs? Can you say how many hours of use it has had?

Hi,

We have tried various brands of media, source DVD’s and different data types. The duplicator has been moderately used & I can confirm that CD’s do copy and read ok…its only DVD’s that “seem” to burn ok – but are un-readable.

Try this new firmware - Duplicator Firmware.

Hi again,

I got the link for the new firmware (http://www.stordigital.com/support/file.php?id=81). I extracted the .bin file (there was no .cue) and "tried" to burn it with Nero "unexpected file format) and Alcohol 120%...it failed. Can you double check the firmware is ok? If so, what do you reccommend?

Thanks

Chris
