HP DVD writer stopped working

Hi my DVD writer broke down in mid record and has a dvd stuck in it and there is no light on the unit, the power supply has a light on and so has the USB box I'm using. It's been an excellent drive up until now.

Jonh - power down and use straightened paper clip in the little hole on the front of the dirve. Kind regards.
