Loss of printing quality
A few months ago (April 22, 2009) we purchased from CD-Writer.com Ltd a Store Digital PrintTower 3 Drive Lightscribe DVD CD Duplicator. Now we have a problem: after about 30 copies done, the quality of lightscribe printing is quite decreased. Except one writer which works well, the other writers engrave circular stripes and, even with two passages, the colour is not plain. Please let me know about. Kind regards

Can you please let me know the serial number of your machine (white sticker with the serial number [which will look like 001234] can be found on the back of the unit). Does the problem occur only on one label? What happens if you try and print label with different design?

The file is not corrupted: while printing together 4 labels at a time (2 passages), one writer prints well this file and the other writers print a less definite image with circular stripes. |

But the result was quite different from the 4 Cd writers: from one I got a good black printing, from the others a less black image with some stripes. Another important question: I would like to add an USB port to this machine. Is it possible? |

Thanks, Donald. I will run about 20-30 CUANDO discs to see what happens. Regarding the USB connection, it should be possible but I will have to confirm that after I'm sure the printing is ok. Be aware though, that the USB connection is between the PC and ONE of the duplicator's writers only - NOT the hard drive. Kind regards, [edited] |

Hi Donald, As [edited]has said, we have run prolonged tests ( 2 batches of 20 discs using the Cuendo2 label) and not noticed degradation. Also, the image came up very dark after a second print. With this in mind, I'm going to update the controller and leave it at that. You didn't get back to me regarding the USB point I made in the ticket - Do you still wish to proceed with the USB fitting despite it only addressing ONE writer and NOT the hard drive?
