STORDIGITAL CK-PRO 1-7 FAULT

My Stordigital duplicator bought last month is not working properly. It appears to start the process but then just comes up saying "Copy Fail". Same happens when I run the Test utility - it says "Test Fail". The DVDs (master and blanks) work fine in our other duplicator, a Microboards unit. How many drives doe s the unit have?
What firmware version is it running? You can see this when you turn it on V1.46J or similar - if you cant see it pls let me know.

Thanks for the reply. The unit has 1 read + 7 write drives. The software version is V1.48S (or maybe 1.485).

We have several DVD recorders in our transfer area. Most are Sony RDR-GX7 but we also have a Pioneer DVR-5100H. What I have found is that DVD masters made on the Sony machine will not copy on this duplicator. DVDs made on the Pioneer will copy, as will some commercially produced DVDs that I have tried. This suggests a possible read software issue. We have never had any problems playing DVDs made on our Sony machines on any other devices, and they copy perfectly on our Microboards tower duplicator and also on our Gemini auto-copier (bought from you last year).

please download this new firmware:

Once downloaded, unzip and burn to CD. Place CD in reader drive, hold down ESC, Enter advanced setup, scroll down to update firmware, follow prompts to update. Before you begin process please ensure you have source drive set to the reader - if you try and update from the HDD you will be waiting a very long time.

If this does not improve the operation of the device please try using a reader other than the DVDROM as the source drive, OPTION8 select source - good luck.

Hi Nic, I've installed the new firmware version and it appears to have fixed the problem; it has successfully copied every disk I've given it. Hopefully that should be the end of it but I'll let you know if anything else crops up. Thanks, Tony
