Faulty DVD Tower

Our 11 bay duplicator tower has been producing copied discs with glitches in. I have been speaking with [edited]Bartoszcze today about the problem. We tried updating the firmware but [edited]thinks the controller is faulty as the machine wouldn't update. He said to contact you to orgnise a return and repair.

Your RMA number is 5146-OOW-3470 (separate post with paperwok has been sent to you few seconds ago). Please fill in an RMA form that will follow this post shortly and I will authorise return for you. Please note that there is an evaluation fee of £75.00 plus VAT to diagnose the fault for out of warranty repairs. You will then be sent a quote for the cost of repair. Should you wish to go ahead with the work, the evaluation fee will be removed from your bill (so you pay only for labour and any necessary components).

Hi Stuart,
Derick just informed me that your duplicator will need new reader (top drive). the cost of the replacement part would be in the value or £20.00-£25.00; labour shouldn’t exceed 1.5 hours (£60.00 per hour charge apply. Please let me know if you would like to proceed and we will get back to you once your duplicator is repaired and tested.

You may recall that when we first raised this, I mentioned that the tower is still under warranty. We've only had it for about 6 months and it has only had light use. We're expecting this to be repaired and sent back free of charge. Can you confirm that this is the case and that we'll get it back before Xmas. Cheers, Stuart

Sorry for the trouble. I have double checked the details and it looks like your machine is covered by second year labour warranty so you will not be charged for the labour, only charge for new drive will apply. Once again - I am sorry for the trouble. Please let me know if you require copy of the invoice.

Your machine has had it's reader drive replaced and has now tested fine on the bench.
I have just emailed you a separate proforma invoice (as an attachment).
Please call through with payment details and we can take payment for the drive.
If you wish to then arrange collection of the unit tomorrow (wednesday) that would be great, as we close tomorrow afternoon and reopen on 4.1.10.
