The Sony Drives are no longer available. The SD11DVDPRE now features LG drives. The LG drives should work as well as the units with the Sony Nec drives. In testing our end they are comparable. If Sony drives were still available your unit would have had Sony. Sorry, BUT EVERY DL DVD FAILS, unlike your previous unit where failure rate is between 1 and 2 per cent.
In addition the top drive has died already, one day's use on CDs !
The chap I spoke to said he could supply the correct drives.
Please do so.
The unit as it stands is not acceptable.

Hi Bernard - OK - we'll have a think about this. the unit you have is pata unit with LG, that test fine here on dual layer. there are no more sony pata drives available (its been like that for months) - are you ever down to london... ? How desperate are you since it might take a few says to get you the SONY solution you need. We can do with PIONEER no problem. Can you get the unit back to us? If I Send youi RMA. ITs a weird time for 1 to 11 duplicators right now, as drive manufacturers drop out the market and the move from PATA to SATA... So all the understanding you can give me will be welcome.

I dont know the difference to SATA and PATA, but the last tower you sold me is superb. ( sony nec drives )
I can assure you that not one DL passed on this unit
Time is not a factor, we just want to get it right.
Pioneers are no longer any good, so we won't go that way.
We can return the unit with our courriers, no problem.
Take your time, just get it right.

Please can you send the unit back to us at your earliest convenience, and we will then rebuild/test the unit (hopefully with the SATA Sony drives).
Please advise when we can expect it so we can schedule the job in.
Please include a copy of one of your master DL discs (and a few of your blanks if possible) so we can use your master (as well as our own) for testing.

Hi Bernard, While I have replaced all the writers in your duplicator with Sonys, I have not been able to locate the master disc you were requested to send to ensure your copier performs to your satisfaction. Please post one ASAP so we can get your duplicator back to you. Kind regards, [edited]

Good to hear!
Your unit was rebuilt with Pioneer DVR-A18LBK drives, so if/when you come to order another one please make clear you need these drives (if they are still available, which will depend on how far in the future it is!).
In any case, it might be wise for you to send us one of your masters to test before we shipped any new unit out, just to be 100% sure you'll be happy.
So - just let us know when/if you need another one and we'll make sure we get you the right product no problem.
