sd-1000 burning issue.

Got a call back from support to file out a support request here. The top drive on the CD duplicator is making master copies But seems to reject all disks when it tries to copy. So it's reading but not burning. Thanks Joe

Dear Joe - after a consultation with our overseas partners we think that your problem can possibly be resolved by going through the alignment process. The initial solution with that included turning off the alignmnet protection has in fact had a knock on effect.

It may be necessary to remove the case and individually align each drive.

If you go to menu item 13, loader utilities, option 1 drive alignment, place 1 disc on the input spool, the unit will go through alignment process with your input. Please call derick in the morning (after 10am) when you have got yourself ready. This proceedure is a common part of self maintenance with autoloader so its a good utility to get your head around. Best regards. [edited]

Hey, I turned drive protection back on and today drive one seems to keep failing disks just stops burning them. With drive protection on. Turned it back of drive one still fails.

Nic - 2007-07-03 16:54:03

Hi Joe, As you have just fitted new drives to the system, and are sure they are perfectly aligned, please set the duplicator back to default which can be done through the Utilities menu item. After resetting, please reboot the duplicator and readjust your burning speeds as required.

Nic - 2007-07-02 18:33:10

Hi joe, Please can you complete a support ticket[edited].

Steve - 2007-05-18 10:32:48

Hi Joe, Please can you send the faulty drive back only. [edited]

Nic - 2007-05-22 17:41:23

We have received your returned writer but, unfortunately, are unable to access it's firmware version. Please check your duplicator's writer f/w for us so we can post your relacement ASAP. To do this go to the duplicator's menu item "System Utilities" and press ENT; scroll down to 3 "Device Info" and again press ENT; Scroll down and the display should read something like :- 01 Port2 [1.09]... the info inside the bracket is the f/w version number. Many thanks, [edited]

Customer - 2007-05-30 15:47:36

F/W version number is 9.09

Sorry for such a slow reply.

Thanks
Joe

Jen Holden - 2007-05-30 17:03:27

We still haven't received this new drive?
Has it been shipped?

Jen Holden - 2007-06-08 09:39:40

Hi Joe
We sent the replacement writer by Royal Mail on 30.5.07 - so we will have to check if we can track it for you.
We sent it to the 25 Randalstown Road, BT41 4LJ address - is this the correct address for you?
Kind regards,

Hi Joe
Hopefully you can open this link:
http://www.parcelforce.com/portal/pw/track?catId=7500082&pageId=trt_resultspage&pfHomeTrack=true&keyname=5A_track&_requestid=153440

It appears they tried to deliver and left a calling card - perhaps you could contact the Antrim depot and see if they can reattempt delivery?
Please let me know how you get on - I thought you must be up and happily running by now!
Kind regards

Customer - 2007-06-11 08:46:35

Hi,

Are you sure they delivered to the correct address?

As there's always someone in the building as its got different offices.

There wouldn't be a place were you could leave a calling card.

Do you have the tracking ID as the link you sent does not work.

Jen Holden - 2007-06-11 11:23:24

Hi Joe
The tracking number is

ZV 5300 4285 5GB

We sent it through Royal Mail (ie postal service rather than courier).
Please let me know if you can't get thru to the Antrim depot and get them to redeliver it.
Kind regards,

Hi, I've been told to reply to this ticket and request another drive.

As a second drive has failed.

Was talking to Mick(i think) this morning.
Told me to request another drive.

Thanks
Joe.

It seems there might be slight software glitch on the unit that results form the device being set in alignment protection mode. First we will try and turn alignment protection off and see if it remedies the problem. To do this follow these instructions: 01 Go to menu Item 13 loader utilities. Press Enter. 02 Scroll to option 5 (alignment protect). Press enter 03 You are now in alignment protect. Press up or down to select OFF. Press Enter. 04 Press Esc and scroll to Copy. Please try to burn some discs.

Customer - 2007-06-18 14:04:18

Hi

I've received both drives and inserted them this morning.
All went well for burning up to near 100 DVD's. Then the 1st drive started to have issues. It didn't close and just placed disks in the drive tray than removed them again. Looked as if it stuck as the drives below opened and closed. To me looked like it was trying to remove the disks normally but the top drive just didn't close.

Currently disabled the drive and it seems to be working normally.

What should I do now?

Customer - 2007-06-25 14:13:08

Hi, Just an update on the issue.
Drives have been aligned perfectly. Copier seems to be running fine. Except it seems to get confused from time to time. randomly one drive won't close. (not sticking because of the disks, just opens and doesn't try to close). Drive alignment protection is still off. Shall i turn it back on?
